-I have gone from having a lot of work and stuff going on, to very little going on. Which isn’t a bad thing. It just means I’ll procrastinate until the next deadline.
-Anne Sexton’s birthday was on Monday, or so Writer’s Almanac told me. I bought the complete works of Anne’s poems and plan to read them someday. I’m working on finishing American Wife by Curtis Sittenfield.
-As I cross things off my to do list, I feel more d0o-doo creeping up to put on the list. Ah shucks!
-No sick kids this week, let’s keep it that way for a while please, please, please, please!!!
-It’s Mitzvah day this weekend, we are going to go out and attempt to do a good deed on Sunday. In case you didn’t know, a mitzvah is:
| 1. | any of the collection of 613 commandments or precepts in the Bible and additional ones of rabbinic origin that relate chiefly to the religious and moral conduct of Jews. |
| 2. | any good or praiseworthy deed. |
-Damn 613 commandments!?! I thought there were only 10.
-I’ve been feeling poetical this week. I love poetry. I wonder if there is a National Poetry writing month like National Novel Writing Month. Where’s the day in blogland where every one writes poetry?
-I got to bootcamp twice this week. Whoo-hoo!
-Noah and I made ice cream yesterday as a science experiment.
-Eli has been starting to throw fits. They’re kind of funny and I tend to observe them rather then stop them out. Which way will he roll, which way will he roll?
-29 more days till Channukah! I want to start a craft list. I guess since I just stated my work load seems relieved slightly, I should get on that.
-Ordered my Royer’s pies.
-I’m glad I can see the humor when I find this toy here:

Wow – bootcamp twice in one week? I barely survived 15 minutes of the ONE that I attended at my gym!
I love finding toys in odd places. It just makes me wonder what the thought behind the placement might have been!
April is national poetry month. I only know this because of my brother. He’s master of all random knowledge.
I love Curtis Sittenfield. She captures awkward so perfectly, and the American Wife novel makes me re-think Laura Bush. I know it’s fictional, but still…
I love reading and writing poetry, too. Though I’ve been reading more than I’ve been writing.
It’s always funny to find toys in odd places – whenever I’ve found a toy in an odd place, it’s because Princess Nagger left it behind when she took something from that spot.
Happy FF!
Nancy – I totally agree that I am re-thinking Laura Bush. I had no idea what her life experience is. It was informative even if it was fiction.
Stopping by from Mrs. 444’s.
Mmmmm…homemade ice cream!
You’re funny. And educational–I know nothing about being Jewish, so I have a question….if that’s what a mitzvah is, then I’m confused about what that has to do with a batmitzvah or barmitzvah. (Maybe I should look those up!) Royers pies?
Yea for no sick kids!!
Well, technically I’m a Jewish convert. But as for Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah I know part of the process is to come up with project that is a kind deed (collecting clothes, food, etc). But that is a good question! And now I just want to know and understand that better.
Bar or Bat Mitzvah means “child of the commandment.” It signifies a person’s responsibility for their own conduct, aka adulthood. Since the commandments are the guidance for how to live as a good and righteous person, becoming Bar or Bat Mitzvah means you are choosing to follow that guidance.
