Village Highlights

Hello New Friends,

On this side of the village you will find us:

Cooking and Eating

Before marriage, kids, and Kyle’s demanding job, he used to do most of the cooking in our house. I did all the whining and complaining about starving and “When was dinner going to be ready???” Now, I’m the chef around here, and I desperately want my kids to remember the home cooked, nutritious meals they have at home. I want my kids to scream for veggies! We are working on both. My sweet tooth is far too powerful.

Some of our favorites recipes this past year were:
Chocolate Banana Muffins – Yup, we eat chocolate for breakfast around here, but only the fabulous kind.
Three Cheese Macaroni – This one is nice because it sneaks in veggies and it’s really cheese.
Roast Chicken and Vegetable Pilaf – A winner because it’s low maintenance.
Mexican Chocolate Cookies – Cookies with a hint of cinnamon and a spicy kick.

Or maybe you need some quick meal ideas. Check out my 10 Quick Go To Meals, which I use on super busy days.

My next task is to get all our recipes linked up and typed up so that I can have a collection in an effort to create a family cookbook.

Kid-taining

Since I am mommy entertainer in addition to my cooking duties, I write about many aspects of keeping my children involved in activities, i.e. kid-taining, whether to learn, for fun, or to keep them busy so I can handle my other 500 duties done.

Check out our favorite preschool games. Or maybe you want some education in your child’s life, follow me as I develop our Tot School, which is a work in progress. Or maybe you just need some me time, whip up a batch of Pumpkin Playdoh and let the kids explore playdoh fun.

Like my kids, I can’t keep up with all the activities we do. There is so much more to talk about!

Thanks for Stopping By!

That’s a sneak peak at stuff that goes on in the Village, which most times feel like a jungle, cooking and eating kids…ahem I mean lots of writing about cooking, eating, and kid related topics from the mama whose hip they are attached to, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
