Our July Days

by Sara on August 8, 2012

July was marked with many birthday parties, lots of rain, good friends, and a trip to the countryside to see some Shakespeare.

Oh yeah, and our van broke down while I was at the park with all 4 kids trying to burn 30 minutes before Eli’s class. It was hot, which then caused Rozzie to cry for almost an hour as we waited for Kyle to rescue us. And then we were down to one car for the day, which was a logistical mess trying to seat 6 people into a 5 seater, more than half of our party needing some sort of car seat.

Mimi visted for a week, and it proceeded to rain all week. When it stopped for 30 minutes or so, I was quick to get everyone out for a walk.

Because Mimi was here, Kyle and I were able to go to a cooking event at Monica Pope’s restaurant T’Afia. I didn’t know much about Monica. I actually still need to read her bio. The food was very good. I think some of our teammates may have ticked Monica off unfortunately. After Monica told someone else, “Screw that team” because we weren’t listening. Well, I was, some others weren’t. Somehow, the dish we made was fabulous. Monica’s restaurant really is pretty awesome and so is she.

A playdate with friends – Merlyn already has some good road rage skills.

And many, many birthday parties with bouncy houses and Chuck E. Cheese. Noah is still terrified of Chuck E. Cheese and hides under the table the whole time they are doing the birthday show.

And that brings us to the present, and we are caught up in this story. : )
