Monday

When I went to pick Noah up from camp, I discovered a big power line spool in our drive way. I decided to encourage Noah to watch the men outside hanging the new wire from the comfort of the playroom.
Tuesday

We did a smell investigation inspired by Sid the Science Kid. He wanted me to put the exact same smells in the cups, but I told him they were going to be surprises. He still hasn’t wrapped his head around the concept of “surprise.” He peeked in almost each and every container. We started an investigation journal for him, just like Sid, so that he could record what he learned from his experiment. He’s is getting much better at drawing and using his imagination.
Wednesday

I decided to be prepared on the science frontier and made Noah a Touch and Feel Box. I figured we could explore all senses doing some sort of experiment. He wasn’t into this one as much. He usually is not into something when it isn’t his idea. So we tried, he peeked, the element of surprise is still falling on deaf ears.
Thursday

I made a yummy quiche with party leftovers. Among the ingredients: spinach, deli turkey cubes, mushrooms, onions, sun dried tomatoes, cheese. It was sooo good! I want to keep the basic quiche recipe and see how many more times it will work with different twists!
Friday

I know this is going to be hard to believe, but we did MORE science experiments! I was on the verge of science experiment fatigue. But persist we did. This day we made paper mold out of newspaper and tissue paper. We were focusing on evaporation. In case you didn’t know, I am not the science person in the family. So I am full of very little knowledge on the subject matter. Wish I new more, but doing these activities is certainly teaching both of us!
Saturday

Pool party at Noah’s Arc! This is great kid pool, shallow, slides, and it was nice to see neighborhood friends. We had to wait out some thunder for a while, but luckily the storm went the right way – away from the party.
Sunday

Just good ol’ hanging out, park, block building, and someone begging me to do science experiments. Which I told him I was a bit tired of doing, so we did a solar system model instead. Which I was happy to tie into some Universe videos on Hulu. Thank you HULU!!! Just two years ago we would go to the park and put rocks on those climbing ma-bobbers. Now he’s actually climbing them.

What fun projects! We are big Sid fans here (why have I not thought of an investigation journal…duh!)
I am not usually a fan of quiche, but that looks delicious and what you put in there has got me tempted!
Loved this “week in review” post!
Love all the science project ideas! I have a Noah too so I just adored that last picture by the Ark.
I recently did Ali Edwards’s Week in the Life Project (although a month or two later than she did). It was exhausting but TONS of fun. Now to get it into a scrapbook!
Hi Melissa! Doing the picture a day is quite the time investment. I’m an enjoying doing it. It helps to work on it a little at a time. Does Ali Edward’s have a link that I could check out? I’m still working on my first one’s first year scrapbook. He is now 4 and 1/2. Oy vey! Thanks for stopping by!
Ha! It was the kid’s idea to do the investigation journal. I try to let him take the lead a lot, probably too much. Thanks for stopping by Crayon Wrangler!
